This Policy Toolkit shall improve understanding about mini-grids, stakeholders and options for supportive and regulatory frameworks with the aim to make investments into mini-grids more attractive. It targets policy-makers, project developers, investors, development banks and donor agencies, primarily in Africa. The Mini-Grid Policy Toolkit is a joint initiative by the EUEI PDF, REN21 and ARE in the framework of the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP).

Furthermore, the EUEI PDF supports the strategic energy dialogue of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership as a secretariat and the implementation of the RECP.

REN21’s goal is to facilitate knowledge exchange, policy development and joint action towards a rapid global transition to renewable energy. Bringing together a wide range of stakeholders REN21 provides high quality information, catalyses discussion and debate and supports the development of thematic networks.
